The opportunity
Join our bold, dynamic, and passionate fundraising team at Heart & Stroke, where we build and nurture relationships with schools, teachers, and families to support our mission of reducing the impact of heart disease and stroke in Canada.
Reporting to the Director, School Relationships, the Jump Relationship Specialist will lead the effective delivery of the Jump Rope for Heart program within an assigned territory. Your role will involve promoting Heart & Stroke’s mission, recruiting, developing, and maintaining partnerships with schools, ensuring excellence in fundraising operations, and actively engaging with our community supporters.
This is a fully remote role and the incumbent can work from anywhere in Canada.
How you will make an impact every day
Maximize fundraising through active stewardship and relationship management
Lead delivery of Jump program with your assigned set of schools
Create annual plans and implement Jump fundraising activities ensuring they are fully supported, and operating to meet revenue goals and KPI’s
Proactively approach and create initial contact with schools and teachers with the goal of inviting support and participation
Embrace a digital approach to program delivery and stewardship
Support and inspire fundraising organizers, participants and volunteers so they can be successful in their desire to support Heart & Stroke
Anticipate participant needs and proactively search for solutions to ensure participant expectations are met or exceeded
Monitor and adjust plans, real time, to influence fundraising and relationship outcomes
Build, manage and sustain the internal business relationships necessary to support achievement of fundraising goals
Liaise with Development teams on supporters that have a broader interest in supporting Heart & Stroke
Create an excellent experience and positive interaction for all who are involved with Heart & Stroke
Community relationships and engagement
Maintain excellent relationships with established supporters and liaise with prospects to maximize all available opportunities for partnerships and revenue growth
Create plans to ensure regular engagement of key supporters, organizers and stakeholders
Coordinate and manage volunteer activities as needed
Identify and recommend new and current relationships that could serve the organization while ensuring continued growth and success of fundraising initiatives
Provide lead generation for the CardiacCrash program with Jump Rope for Heart schools
Plan and initiate promotional activities that supports and enhance Jump Rope for Heart and H&S’s community presence
Attend and actively participate in networking and health-related events that engage teachers, educators and parents
Identify mission opportunities to engage schools, teachers and donors
Manage promotion and communications plans and activities that create awareness of the Jump program
Who we need
Education
Post-secondary
CFRE certification and involvement in a professional association is an asset
Experience
3-4 years of related experience in fundraising, sales and relationship management
Volunteer engagement and experience working with diverse communities
Experience and comfort developing new relationships and fundraising opportunities
Experience working with schools or school boards an asset
Event planning, coordination and/or project management experience would be an asset
Skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to anticipate and plan, problem solve and exercise sound judgment
A professional and exceptional donor centric service approach
Proficient with remote technology, online and social platforms
Developing rapport virtually
Proven success in fundraising, comfortable with targets and meeting revenue goals
Bilingual (French/English) is an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer service orientation
Ability to effectively promote opportunities and partnerships along with excellent public speaking/ presentation skills
Proven ability to relate to and engage diverse groups of people.
High level of ownership, and accountability to goals, teamwork and following best practices
Proactive, self-motivated and resourceful
Flexible and adaptable; able to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment; able to effectively manage a demanding schedule and prioritize responsibilities.
Strong technical abilities, computer skills and experience working with a CRM database and online fundraising platforms would be an asset
