Associate Manager, Fundraising Support Services

Reporting to our Director, Development Support Services, we have a 12-month contract opportunity for an Associate Manager; someone who thrives on creating more efficient and effective ways of doing things. This is an opportunity that brings together our various provincial needs and services under one national umbrella. It’s a unique opportunity for a creative, focused problem-solver to join an established, national organization to support the Community Engagement teams as you help roll out a new strategy. It’s a chance to design, develop and deliver processes to support a cohesive national team, grow relationships, encourage communication and create a unified approach to fulfilling our mission. Who you are

You are passionate about helping others and you believe clearly laid out plans, directives and objectives are the paths to success. You may have experience at a large financial institution or retail organization with multiple offices spread across the province or country. You have played a critical role, bringing teams together through supportive initiatives and clarity around best practices. You want to apply your expertise creating and implementing processes to bring together a community engagement team that is working hard to increase awareness and donor dollars. You want a strategic role that benefits the individuals and the teams at the Foundation.

How you will make an impact every day, you will focus on:

  • Field operations. You will develop and improve processes while providing support to ensure they have what they need to effectively plan and execute their fundraising programs and manage their office operations. You will represent the field in key conversations and projects that have a direct impact on the field seeking to ensure their needs are being met and that the organizational initiatives can be delivered.
  • Prizing and promotions. You will evaluate existing and implement new efficient, feasible processes pertaining to the field’s role in processes related to prizing, promotions (i.e., ballot draws) and ordering program material (i.e., canvasser kits). You will forecast and plan for ordering or print materials and prizes.
  • Field communications and training. You will roll out emails, meetings and training (in partnership with the Program Training team) to ensure clarity on operational components and adoption of new processes.
  • Collaboration and influencing. You will monitor the Community Engagement program fundraising websites and CRM as well as work with the Manager, Marketing Operations to identify trending issues and support the field team with resolutions. You will work with internal business units to identify and resolve trending issues related to the transfer of donor data from the field to the donor processing center. You will support the relationships between the field teams, Support Services, Program Teams and other Shared Services.
  • Guiding. You will coach and guide the work of one direct report, the Coordinator, Fundraising Support Services. You will ensure the Coordinator is collecting any required information and responding to the field’s inquiries on a timely basis.

What you bring:

  • The education. You have a university degree in Business, Business Administration or a relevant field.
  • The experience. You have 2-3 years demonstrated experience evaluating, identifying, developing and implementing business processes to improve operational efficiencies. You have worked with and supported a field team at a large corporation.
  • The personality. You are creative and strategic. You have proven critical thinking and relationship building skills. You are a fun, positive person always at the ready with a solution to roadblocks and a new idea.
  • The technical skills. You are comfortable with MS Office, particularly Access and Excel; databases; CRMs and online reporting tools. You can quickly learn new technologies.
  • The communication abilities. You have excellent leadership, organizational, multi-tasking and presentation skills. You are well spoken with outstanding written skills and highly detailed process documentation abilities. You have an exceptional commitment to providing internal-facing customer service and an understanding of how to nurture relationships and influence without authority. You are passionate about collaboration.
